Hoops

Put Notre Dame in the same class as Georgetown, they are so incredibly bad they don't even deserve an N.I.T. bid. I picked them + 5 1/2 against West Virginia last night, thinking they would ignite a spark in the Big East Tournament. Wrong, the Irish were down 20 points 7 minutes into the game. Notre Dame is poorly coached, bad defensively, lazy and soft. How Notre Dame and Georgetown were once top 10 teams is beyond me, they both just suck.

What happend with Texas A&M? They blow a 19 point halftime lead to Texas Tech and let Mike Singletary score 29 consecutive points, this guy wasn't even a starter. I picked A&M -6 and stopped scoreboard watching at half thinking that the game was over. How does a bubble team let that happen?

As for today, more crazyness is going on. Kansas fell to Baylor, and Clemson lost to Georgia Tech. Villanova blew a 16 point halftime lead against Marquette and then went on to win the game 76-75, on a buzzer beating lay-up. The Villanova win sets up a great semifinal game tomorrow against Louisville, that should be a great game. Also, don't forget about tonight. Pittsburgh and UCONN are both in action, look for one of those teams to be upset. Out west, Arizona St. beat Arizona by a dozen. I think Arizona should be on the wrong end of the bubble due to that loss. The Big 10 also got going today, is it just me or is Big 10 hoops that bad to watch?

The hoops going on right now are great and you just have no idea what will happen from day to day. I did OK last night going 4-3 in the picks, but these conference tournaments are the hardest thing to pick in sports, even harder then the opening round of the dance. I would lay off until the tourny starts and just enjoy the college ball.

Picks-66-41-1 ATS overall

NBA

L.A. Lakers + 2 1/2 San Antonio--Lakers are playing the 2nd game of a difficult back-to-back on the road. This team has found a way all season to win games that seem impossible, they will do it again tonight in a statement game.

Cleveland - 3 1/2 Phoenix--The Cavs defense will shut down the Suns' offense. Shaq is starting to get mad and Phoenix is beginning to realize that they are done in the west.
